Wicked!!!!!!!!!

Over Christmas break we went and saw Wicked here in London. We were lucky enough to go to one of the last performances including Idina Menzel. It is now my secret life ambition (not so secret anymore) to be a Broadway star, or at least to see Idina in anything else becuase she is amazing. The whole thing is amazing. At the end of Defying Gravity, me and my mom and my sisters were all crying and then again at the end of No Good Deed. Nancy is always talking about the 10 defining moments people have in their life and I feel like every time I go see a professional show I want to redefine myself and be a musical star. It's not terribly realistic but it is fun to dream and even more fun to see such good shows! I love Wicked!
Its a little creepy how alike we girls look, especially me and my mom. It is a good thing she is so pretty!
This is one of London's biggest theatres and it was still packed that night. The show had been sold out for weeks.
Everybody loves Wicked!

  2. I loved WIcked. I am so glad we got to see Idina Menzel. What a spectacular performer. Really truly amazing. It was the first time in my life I did not fall asleep (or really really want to) during a musical. I almost cried, almost, when she sang defying gravity. I get emotional thinking about it. The kids and I have the soundtrack, and we about have it memorized. Especially POPULAR. we really like that one. Kristin Chenoweth sings it and she is amazing too. Alayna, I think you could sing like that on Broadway. You have a fantastic voice. I have the kind of voice only my own children could love. After seeing WIcked though, for the first time, I understood why people would want to learn to really sing.

  4. Thanks Lisa! Kristen, we have seen Beauty and the Beast (that was in New York on our way here) and Chicago, Les Mis, Wicked, and Mary Poppins since we got here. We just saw Mary Poppins last week so I will be posting on that as soon as I catch up with all the other stuff. We have big plans to see some others.

  5. i had no idea you could sing, alayna. awesome!!!! if there was any talent i didn't get that i wish i did, it would be singing. its one of those things that when i hear great music, i feel it in my heart--that if i could just open my mouth right then, THAT sound would come out. but, alas, it is not the case. not that i have a horrible voice--but its by no means great. i would love to hear you sing!

  6. My mom says I have been singing since before I could talk and when I was little I would get in trouble and annoy my brothers by singing loudly throughout the house. I did it all through high school and it is more of a hobby now than anything. I would love to sing like Idina Menzel on Broadway but alas I will probably stick to church.
