Nate and I took both our families on the London Eye, the huge Ferris Wheel that you see in all the pictures of London. Wayne and Nancy stayed on the ground but the rest of us were brave, some more than others, and went on the ride. It was one of the first clear days we had had in a while so we had good timing. The views are amazing up there and it is wierd to see that everything is so close together.
In this picture you can see everyone but me and Nate, plus a few other people.
i'm not a big fan of heights, either. i'm sure i would be scared. on the plus side, it seems to be pretty well enclosed, which helps. i could never take my kids up there. that makes me more nervous than anything. even when i was a teenager, i couldn't enjoy the grand canyon b/c i was afraid my brothers would fall/be blown/somehow get over the edge. terrifying. and nuts. =)
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a daredevil but I totally get the height thing. I fell out of our tree house a few times when I was little so I'm not crazy about unenclosed heights. I am also not a fan of being pushed out of tree houses by my big brother.
ReplyDeletenot much fear for me in heights, although I wouldn't like to go on the plexiglass overlook at the Grand Canyon. Now, if there was a black widow on the ride, I might think twice. Black widows are the most evil of all critters. The Pecks have no fear. I think Shawn would have gone on this if it was nothing more than a wire gate and some metal grating for a floor. :) I am hoping he evens out the nervous tendencies of the Herbert/Sechrest blood. That thought alone terrifies my parents.
ReplyDeleteI don't like heights and I think it gets worse as I get older! Although, I can remember a time that I enjoyed riding a roller coaster...but no desire to do that now! I'll stay on the ground, thank you, and let someone tell me what it looks like from up high! :)
ReplyDeleteI love roller coasters! And as for Black Widow Spiders I used to be afraid before I met Stella, my sister's pet Black Widow. She is very nice but I don't think I would ever take her out of her bottle.
