Christmas time!

Merry Christmas everyone! I didn't quite have it together for all my Christmas cards this year but I did try to send some to the grandparents at least. For the rest of you, we are thinking of you and we do love you. As you bloggers already know Nate and I have had a crazy and wonderful year. We have done more traveling than most people get to do in a lifetime and have moved three times (not our record, by the way). Nate is finishing up his second to last semester of law school and I have a job at an animal hospital. My job has been great but hard for both of us because we want a puppy so bad. I see the cutest little puppies every day at work and I see people who don't take care of them very well and I think I would be so much better at it. We have big plans to add to our family next year (puppies, not babies. Sorry Moms). I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! We love you!

  1. I have a theory that people want puppies when they want babies but can't have one, for whatever reason...
I am one of those people who don't take care of their puppies well. Poor Sarge. He is in the garage right now, hanging out in his wire kennel to ride out the cold winter weather. He is a rowdy dog, for sure, but he loves the kennel, and doesn't bark or whine at all, which is great. He hasn't been eating or drinking much lately, but he did poop out a piece of garden hose that he ate like a sausage. He has the internal guts of steel. Earlier during the ongoing mayhem of the ice dam on the roof and blocking the gutters, dad came over to help. He dumped rock salt around (the back patio was covered in about four inches of solid ice) and Sarge ate some (why not? right) and then later he puked it up. I do not know what gets into him. If I didn't know better i would think he had praeder willi syndrome. Dogs don't get that, right?
Merry Christmas, with the most impolite blog post in history...

  2. I pretty sure all labs have that syndrome. They are a little manic and will eat pretty much anything. Fair warning: the longer they go in a kennel with out human attention, the more manic they become, even to the point of turning a little mean. Your theory about puppy = baby may or may not be true about me but what are you gonna do? I think Nate just wants something to play with since I'm not much fun. I hope you guys had a good Christmas!

  3. PS: if Sarge doesn't start drinking more soon you may want to take him to the vet. Check his gums, if they are a really light color that means he is dehydrating. It can get pretty serious.
