Personal History

Isn't it funny how the people we are closest are sometimes the most mysterious to us. For instance, I could only tell you a handful of stories about my father growing up but I could tell you the whole life history about some of my aunts and uncles. It just helps us realize to not only share everyday life with those we love, but fun stories and life lessons. Nate and I play a game where one of us has to come up with a story about ourselves that the other one hasn't heard. It's amazing to find out that there are stories we don't know about each other. The Washburn side of my family has a monthly newsletter and next month we are writing a 2 page personal history of every member of the family...EVERY member. I will post mine and Nate's when we get them written for anyone who is interested. I think it is good to stop every once in a while to take stock of your life.

  1. That sounds like a fun game. We will have to try it sometime. Speaking of life experiences, Halle's kindergarten class would like to hear about Christmas in Romania. Will you have Nate email me with some traditions, songs, traditional foods, etc. I would love any help he can give me.

  4. I just finished my "2 page personal history" and I think it's pretty good... but it's 4 pages long. Don't tell anyone, but Angie said she talked to J.B. and he said "I'll take whatever you'll send me, but I'd like it to be 2 pages." Plus, the only reason it fits on 4 pages instead of way more is that I used a 10pt font instead of 12 and I stretched the text out with smaller margins...

So, whatever. Anyway, the blog idea is a pretty good one. I can't remember how I found out you had this, though I have an idea that you might have put it in the Wanderer, which would make sense. I'll keep track of you and Nate this way... and you can keep track of me in the same way, if you want to. I followed that link in the upper right corner and got my own blog. There's nothing in it yet, but I feel sure that I'll fill it with, you know stuff any time now...
